Vinceremos sent 16 riders to represent Palm Beach County at the Special Olympic State Equestrian Games on March 22 & 23 at the Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Florida. The team looked very professional in their uniforms that were sponsored by CaptiveOne Advisors.
The event included teams for 29 counties competitng in English and Western Equitation, Trail, Dressage and Drill Teams. The riders from Vinceremos have been practicing for this year's event starting in September, although this is the ongoing goal of many of our riders.
Riders qualified for this team by riding at the County Games in November, and the Area Games in February. The Opening Ceremonies and competition on Friday evening were followed by a dance party, to bad they don't hand out medals for this because we have some great dancers! The competition continued on Saturday, Ruth Menor, Head Coach, had prepared every rider for their class and was supported by a team of staff and volunteers that gave them the winning edge. Sarah Menor had the drill team marching to a military beat for their drill team exhibition. Elite Horse Transport took care of trailering our six horses safely north. They were impeccably groomed and prepared by Michael DeLuna and Sam Pinder, a devoted group of volunteers and a family cheerleaders. Vinceremos was a force to be reckoned with and came home with many medals and ribbons.
Congratulations to the Vinceremos team for a successful competition season!
