Horses have been a life long passion for Ruth, starting on her families Dairy Farm in Michigan. The family moved from the farm when Ruth was 12. The constant in her life was horses.
Ruth and her family moved to Lake Worth, Florida. Ruth was a working student in her high school and college years with several local trainers. She supported her horse endeavors by showing young horses and coaching riders at local hunter/jumper shows. After graduation from Florida State University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Ruth attended the Cheff Center in Augusta, MI, graduating from their instructor training course.
- In 1982, Ruth founded Vinceremos with the help of family and friends.
- In 1984, Ruth received the Master Instructor certification from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International.
- In 1986, Ruth started the Special Olympic Equestrain program in Palm Beach County.
- In 1987, Two Vinceremos riders were selected to participate in the Special Olympics World games in Indiana.
- In 1991, Ruth was selected as the Head Coach for the Florida Special Olympics Team at the World Games.
Vinceremos thanks to the support of her community has grown to the facility that it is today with a 24 stall barn and a 45,000 sq ft covered arena serving over 120 clients weekly.
